My Favourite Subject

Mylène Loubert, a member of the Organizational Team of Frontier College at the University of Sherbrooke, is in charge of the homework club activities at Famille Espoir and also a volunteer at Des Quatre-Vents primary school.

She asked a few students what their favourite subject was and why.

Their answers will surely bring a smile to your face!

My favourite subject is:

Arts, because…

Arts

“I can do a drawing in my head”.

“I like drawing and making crafts”.

Maths, because…

Math

”it’s funny to do some calculations”.
“I’m good”.
 “it’s fun”.
“... I have no idea why.”
“I really like doing additions, it’s funny”.

Physical education, because…

Physical education“we move”.
“I like to move and we don’t need to use our brain or to learn things by heart, and the teachers don’t yell at me: ‘Olivier, finish up your work!’”.

Music, because…

Music“we sing and all that”.

“I want to learn to play instruments and to sing songs”.

English, because…

“I like it, that’s all”.

French / writing, because...

French / writing

“I don’t know why, but I like it”.

Science and technology, because…

Science and technology

“I like to discover new things in science”.
“we do experiments… but we have not done any yet.”

Some students also brought up their not-so-favourite subjects:

“I hate writing exams because it’s boring”.
“I hate French. I don’t like writing and having to correct my noun phrases, verb phrases and all that... Well, I like writing, but not correcting”.
